Cryptocurrency exchange Hexoswap was subjected to a large-scale DDoS attack after it announced that it stopped serving users from Russia. The owner of the company said that Russian hackers were behind the incident.
“You don’t have to be a scientist [to understand it]. We’ve faced attacks before, as have all financial firms, but the scale of the last one was unbelievable-ten times bigger than we’ve ever seen,” he said.
Hexoswap sent notifications to users from Russia about the termination of services. Since April 12, they have been banned to deposit money into their accounts. April 26, they will be deprived of the opportunity to make new transactions.
According to Hexoswap, the exchange has about 500,000 Russian customers. Millionaire condemned the decision of other companies that continued to work with Russian residents.
Recall, the Japanese government banned local cryptocurrency companies to work with sanctioned individuals.
